In this week's episode of unscripted, we catch up with former Detroit Lions Running-back and 2016 Olympian Jahvid Best. Jahvid Excelled athletically from the moment he stepped on the track and football field in Highschool. After breaking a Bay Area record on the football field where he rushed for 3325 yards and 48 touchdowns, he took that same intensity on the track and ran 10.31 in 100m and 20.65 in the 200m making him one of the best in the state of California in two sports. Even after all that success, Jahvid was considered as an undersized running back and that gave him extra motivation for the next level. He attended California University at Berkeley where he picked up from where he left us. He is top 5 in almost every category in the school history books in his position and to this day holds the record for most rushing yards in a single game with 311 yards in the ground. In 2010 he was selected with the 30th pick by the Detroit lions. Though Jahvid showed signs of explosiveness, speed and duel threat capabilities his career came to a close when he suffered one too many concussions. In 2012 he suffered a concussion that forced him to step away from the game. In 2015 he decided to step back on the track and a year later found himself representing St. Lucia at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games after winning a qualifying time of 10.16m which is the St. Lucian record. After retiring from sport Jahvid now spends time mentoring the youth through his foundation (The Jahvid best foundation) creating music, and serves as coach helping the next up and coming football players looking to get their shot at the NFL.
