Erik describes the history of OE and how it grew from an idea between friends into a successful non-profit that serves over 25 veteran musicians and performs at events throughout the county. An Air Force Reserve pilot Colonel and former , Erik describes why he tells people he's been involved in multiple military affairs (legislative, public, and international) and describes his struggle with a rare eye condition which almost ended his military career. Instead, it taught him how to overcome adversary and gave him a path to three advanced degrees, two professional certifications, a White House Presidential Management Fellowship, and recently, the opportunity to serve in elected office.
