Lauren Sisler is a native of southwest Virginia and a graduate of Giles High School. She also happens to be a multi national award-winning sports broadcaster for ESPN, the SEC Network, and AL.com. However, her journey has not always been full of victories and celebrations. In 2003 as a freshman at Rutgers University, tragedy struck Lauren’s world when she unexpectedly lost both of her parents on the same day to their concealed battle with addiction. Through her grief and despair, Lauren found the courage to continue moving forward and find peace. In our conversation, Lauren shares more about her story and how she was able to overcome the tragic and unexpected loss of her parents. We also discuss the impact COVID-19 is having on her profession and her personal life - including her upcoming wedding.
