Starting the 1st of June, all of South Africa will move from level 4 lock-down to level 3. This is great news and brings alot of joy and freedom to the people! One of the biggest changes that we will see will be more freedom on movement and so the ability to exercise and move more! Before we start the day by jumping straight back into what we were used to before quarantine, it is important to note that our bodies, muscles and mind have deteriated alot and we not as strong, flexible or mobile as we use to be. I discuss some habits and events that can take place before this day to maximize your return to fitness and most importantly prevent any injuries!

Jarryd Smith, a motivational speaker who grew up being addicted to drugs and living on the streets, to flipping his life 180 degrees and helping others. Founder of Second Chance Trust. Second Chance Trust is a public benefit organisation that educates young people on the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse and empowers them with knowledge and skills to make healthy life choices. It also facilitates interventions that promote healing and growth in victims of social issues such as rape, HIV, abuse and gangsterism - which are very often associated directly or indirectly with drug and alcohol abuse. The Trust was founded by Jarryd Smith who has lived through, survived and overcome chronic addiction. In addition to his role as founder and Program Director, Jarryd is the author of a highly acclaimed autobiography entitled 180º Had to die. To live. This hard hitting autobiography is a brutally honest account of his downward spiral into the sordid world of hard core drugs and his excruciatingly painful journey back to a healthy and productive life.

With his passion for empowering people and organizations he decided to go back to studying and get his second Master degree in Clinical Psychology (2014) with distinction! His new journey led him through internships, community service and general mental health support, finally ending up with his own private practice in 2015. Our Wellness Blueprint Podcast was started by two personal trainers who have been in the fitness industry for a combined of 10+ years and have knowledge in the field for 25+ years. We quickly realized that A LOT of people struggle to stay fit and healthy because they do not know the principles of training, health and well-being. When they do decide to get into it they usually go to the extreme and tend to fall out of routine and give up. This is the first mistake and that is why we are here. We want to teach and show people that having an active and healthy lifestyle is much easier than it looks and sounds. We cover all aspects of fitness and well being, not just the gym. We will discuss diets, training methods, psychology, well-being, motivation, life coaching, basic lifestyle changes that anyone can apply.
