In Which I Talk To Artists

Arts

Hailing from Austin, Texas, Heather Sundquist Hall, the artist behind Golden Hour Prints draws inspiration from narratives, nostalgia and quiet moments. It serves as her way of holding onto memories like souvenirs from road trips of yesteryear. Soft, velvet colors and ambient atmosphere are major elements in every piece. Capturing that certain time of day; like the subtle glowing light right before sunset, during the “Golden Hour.” Each piece begins as an original gouache painting, then carefully scanned and digitally reproduced on museum quality, acid free paper with archival ink. Golden Hour Prints is committed to working with local businesses that exclusively use environmentally friendly processes when reproducing work. Heather is a formally trained fine artist and moonlights as a freelance illustrator. She holds an AAS in General Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, as well as, a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. In her spare time, Heather draws inspiration from exploring the outdoors and forgotten places with her husband, Michael and their dogs, Chickie and Waylon.
