Oh snap! It’s the Add More Mouse podcast and we’re starting a brand new miniseries! Since the beginning of the Disney company, the storytellers there have often looked to real events and people to base projects on, such as Davey Crocket, any of the 100 sports movies Disney has put out, or all the way back to Walt’s own project True-Life Adventures. But in Hollywood, real events often do not follow a traditional film’s three act structure, so writers and directors change the real stories in order to make them “more cinematic,” often while giving the audience a skewed idea of what really happened. We start our “Fact and Fiction” miniseries with 1995’s Pocahontas, the 33rd Animated Classic released by the studio.
