Whether you want to believe it or not, manipulation is a part of any and every financial market. People are almost always looking out for number one and they will do what is possible to do so. In any sort of investment, it’s about getting the best possible return, and when you have a large amount of money to throw around, there are certain things you can take advantage of. Killer WhalesWhales. Beluga, sperm, humpback, blue, and narwhal. Whales are beautiful, majestic creatures, but what do they mean to financial markets? Okay, all jokes asides, whales, or large volume investors, have an undeniable effect on the crypto market. But, whales are just one form of market manipulation. Laundry dayThere’s wash trading, spoofing, pump and dump schemes, fake news, and so many other ways that people use to move the market to their own benefit. We discuss many of the ways people use to manipulate financial markets, and in particular, the cryptocurrency market. But does it REALLY matter?So, the real question is, does it matter? Well, that depends on your view on Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and the market as a whole. If you are a day trader and are dependent on the day to day price fluctuations, then manipulation is very important and can be used as a benefit. If you are a long-term investor, it may not affect your decisions. When you think of the cryptocurrency world 10 years from now, what happens today or this month, may not matter much.Opinions matter. Kinda.There are differences of opinions on the subject of market manipulations. Some believe there is no market manipulations. Some people believe there the market is being manipulated and it doesn’t matter.
