Valerie discusses her life growing up with two therapists as parents. Having to move to Germany as a teenager with her family and how that brought them all closer together. Then returning to the states she then tells us about going to college for psychology but felt that something was missing in her life. An athletic person already her life journey took her next to her first Brazilian Jiujitsu class in the late 90’s.She discusses overcoming the awkwardness, fear and anxiety that came with training and then competition. How facing adversity and fear head on allowed her to grow the most as a person. She discusses her passion in helping and empowering others.
