Welcome to the February episode of the Viking Voices Podcast sponsored by Hy-Vee. Host Elliot Nathan is joined by Caleb Thielbar, who is in his first season as the Augustana Baseball pitching coach. As of February 2020, Thielbar is currently playing for the Minnesota Twins, looking to make the Big League roster after spring training. Thielbar played for the Minnesota Twins from 2013-2015 and spent time with the Padres, Marlins, Tigers and Braves organizations for a total of 10 professional seasons. A native of small-town Randolph, Minnesota, Thielbar played college baseball at South Dakota State University. Thielbar enjoyed a great four year career at SDSU and left as the all time leader in starts (44) and innings pitched (274). He wound up fifth on the all-time strikeouts list and tied the school record with 100 as a senior. On the podcast, Theilbar discusses his hometown, coaching at Augustana, and his journey to Major League Baseball.
