A Sunday morning sermon from Pastor David Singh.Today there is a growing mistrust of any religious institution, ritual or ceremony. Equally, there is an apathy and an anti-government mentality that pervades our society. We no longer trust the police, the politician, or the priest. The younger the generation, the more the temptation to give up on these institutions. Jesus is representative of the younger generation of his time. He was less than 30 years old when he began his ministry. What was happening in Jesus’ day is not far removed from our situation. History repeats itself, and we can learn from the example of Jesus how to work with the systems that surround us. Jesus clearly taught us in Mark 12:17 “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at him. If Jesus the Son of God and the greatest authority exemplified this in his life, how can we imitate him? Lord grant us the capacity to be a healing presence in the world today!
