A Sunday morning sermon by Pastor David Singh.The women at the tomb, the disciples, and 500 others all bore witness to the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus radically changed the disciples' vision of how he was going to restore the kingdom of God. The scope of the work is clear. Go and make disciples of all nations, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judaea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth. We are called to go to the nations. While not everyone is called to go as a missionary, we are all called to change our vision of God’s kingdom. God’s kingdom is for the whole world, not just Israel or America. Jesus calls us to move beyond a narrow nationalistic and ethnic understanding of God’s kingdom. “For God so loved the world” is at the heart of the gospel. Jesus gave himself for all. In imitating Jesus, we have no other option but to open our hearts to love like he did. Ask the Lord to give you a new love for a people that you do not know and for whom you will empty yourself in love.
