A Sunday morning sermon by Pastor David Singh.Acts 2:46 tells the story of the early Christian community. "And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts." There is something essential in this combination of regular worship in the Temple and meeting in homes.There is the formality of Temple, priests, law, sacrifice, etc., and this is held in tension with authentic invitations to food, to gladness and generosity. This combination is so inviting. Altar and dining table, ritual and joy, tradition and generosity are all shared with one another. This makes life meaningful, and everyone can feel a deep sense of connection with the past as well as the promise of the future.Let us learn this vital balance and embrace both history and tradition, spontaneity and the openness to something completely new.Come Spirit of God and repeat what you did at Pentecost!
