This is Episode 60 of the VulnerABLE Podcast! She always dreamed of being a singer, but at 15 she would suffer a vocal cord injury. After 30 years she finally got her voice back, now she's teaching others to sing and to avoid the mistakes she once made! Growing up she was the straight A student, and seemed to be on a trajectory for greatness. Her true passion was for music, more specifically she wanted to become a singer. Then at 15 years old she had a vocal cord injury, and her voice was completely wrecked. At the time she wasn’t disciplined enough to repair it, and her parents wouldn’t allow her to have surgery. For 24 years she basically just dealt with having a hoarse voice, even being a vocal coach. Once she started a family her priorities became focused bringing up her children, and she would put her passion for being a singer to the side. After her last child was born she finally started to get back to herself. Finally, at 38 years old she finally decided to go see a specialist, and figure out how to repair this issue she’d be dealing with for so long. Now she’s continuing to teach others how to sing, and teaching them what to avoid so they don’t make the same mistakes she once did.
