Hi everybody! I hope you’ve been well. I have not forgotten about Episodes for my soon-to-be millions of fans, but for now, fives and tens of fans, which is still quite lovely bc it’s great to have any number of fans. I know I’d said this summer I’d have more Episodes out, but I gotta work, and I have this kid who just won’t go away. Also, I’ve been working to complete my second novel, 99 Problems, and that will done, or at least the first full draft will be done, by the end of this year. It’s really good. Check out the first few chapters on my website: LeslieQuigless.com. But I will be recording more Episodes as soon as I’m done that, so prob Jan 2020. And that’s a definite thing. It’s just that I’m just one person, and…yeah. In the meantime, though, I’ve been wanting to create something short, and I love the podcast Modern Love, which consists of essays that have been published in the NY Times and that are about all aspects of love. The essays are read aloud by established actors. And I wouldi submit the one I’m about to share, but it’s longer than what they allow, and was like, but I still wanna hear my essay read aloud on a podcast, and then, I was like, fuck it, let’s make it fucking happen, bc I have a fucking podcast! And so that’s what I’ve done. I also think I need to remember that I can still start and finish a project bc 99 Problems and Episodes are both taking so long (although I do have the next season of Episodes written, I just have to record.) So that’s part of it, too—I love the creation process, and it’s hard being in the first phase w 99 Problems for so long, which is finishing that first draft. So producing this essay, which I wrote a while back, was needed for me, and of course, I’m going to share whatever I do bc fuck letting it languish somewhere to never be experienced by others. This essay is read aloud by yours truly, and also features a cameo appearance by my beloved sweetheart, Arden. Enjoy, and if you love it, share it!
