Matthew 6:12 (ESV) Why Do We Forgive? Today we are told we forgive FOR OURSELVES. Remember, you don't forgive someone for his or her sake - you forgive them for your sake. Much of our teaching is self-centered NOT Christ (Gospel) centered. We are producing MORALISTS not DISCIPLES 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV) Moralist– Definition: : one who leads a moral life : a philosopher or writer concerned with moral principles and problems : one concerned with regulating the morals of others   Are we unknowingly doing this? 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.   2 Timothy 3:4-5 (ESV)   Conceit = to envelop with smoke, i.e. (figurative) to inflate with self-conceit :- high-minded, be lifted up with pride, be proud. Determine today to become more like Jesus, to forsake myself, take up my cross and follow Jesus!
