Hey it's Michael 'Medium Rare' O'Donnell with http://cavetools.com and in this video we're going to go over some of the pros and cons of gas grills verses charcoal grills. But when it comes to charcoal grills, you know there's a big wide range of prices, and some are very low-end cheap charcoal grills, there are also some more expensive, high-end ones. Now on the negative side, it can take up to 20 minutes sometimes just to prepare the charcoal and get everything ready. So there is extra prep- time. Cleaning your charcoal grill's going to be a little more time consuming with all the ashes. But if you use the tin foil technique that we recommend, it makes cleanup much much easier! Some people complain about the temperature consistency, because you are using charcoals. It's not as much of a consistent heat source as a gas grill. Gas grills on the other hand have consistent grilling temperatures, much easier to clean and there really isn't as much prep time. Besides just preheating the grill grates, you pretty much turn on the knob and you are ready to go. On the other hand, prices can be very high on some gas grills as there's a lot more moving parts as well in a gas grill compared to a charcoal grill. So you have to factor that in terms of what's gonna break. And you know, what are my repair and maintenance costs. When it comes down to it, some people grill because they just want to eat real quickly and others grow because they really enjoy it. So gas grills aren't really as much fun because you just turn on the gas to light the flame.
