In this episode I talk about the underutilization of the crayfish in fly fishing. I came up with a pattern I called the Jiggy Crayfish and wanted to share it with you. Here is the recipe: Hook: Lively Legz 320J Jig hook size 10 Bead: 4.0mm slotted diwn and dirty Tungsten bead in copper Thread: 6/0 dark brown uni-thread Tail: brown blood quill marabou Antenna: Grizzly Micro Legs Fl. orange Shell back: wild turkey tail feathers Dubbing: your choice (dark olive hares ear plus was used today) I like dark hares ear the best though Ribbing: utc copper wire size small I typically dead drift these under my favorite nymphs and use them as an anchor fly, then strip them at bit on the end of my drift. The often hit when you start to lift at the end of the drift.
