In Psalm 8 we see that God is big and good. He is the maker of heaven, earth, and everything in between. He carefully set the stars in their rightful place, making each of them unique and knowing them all by name. In the vastness of creation, God is certainly big and we are small (yet significant). He made us to rule over His creation as His representatives: to be the means that show creation how the creator is like. Yet, because of sin we have fallen short of the glory of a big and holy God. We either think too highly or lowly of ourselves. But out of God’s goodness and love, the creator became flesh and died on a cross for our sins to reconcile us back to Him and restore us to His image. In Christ, we truly see how great God is and what man ought to be. We are small and significant, and we belong to a God that is big and good.
