God did not consider it too low for Him to be engaged in the work of comforting His people. He sometimes uses instruments, but all real comfort to a broken heart must come directly from God Himself. He doesn't send someone else to do it, but he said, "I will comfort you." It must be God's work. He must do it Himself.
