Good Nurse Bad Nurse

Society & Culture

This week Tina is honored to be joined by talented poet and nurse Piers Harrison-Reid from the United Kingdom. Piers is an A&E nurse and has had his poetry featured by the BBC. Piers tackles difficult subjects in his poetry like racism and mental health issues. Piers helps Tina tell the gruesome and horrifying story of Thomas Dunkley, a caregiver in the UK who took care of former boxer Shaun Cummins. Shaun was badly injured in a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. They close the show with Piers performing one of his poems encouraging health care students. Listen all the way to the end to hear a second performance of one of Piers's poems that deals with mental health issues. Good Nurse Bad Nurse is sponsored by Trusted Health.
