Mind Espresso with Scott Engler

Miscellaneous

This Mind-Espresso is about reducing bias and fostering better decision-making featuring the work of Nobel prize winning behavioral economist Daniel Kahneman from his book Thinking, Fast and Slow. Kahneman argues that humans are not logical decision-makers and that we are overly-influenced by emotion and biases and that our lives are run by assumptive, automatic thinking which causes us to constantly make poor decisions. It’s a talk I’ve probably given over 100 times in different forms. It also details a useful thinking framework designed by long-passed Chicago Sun-Times Mike Royko. (I believe I'm the first person ever to link Daniel Kahneman to Mike Royko. :). Hope you find this useful. I primarily work with corporate executives, but I also have a passion for personal leadership. I’ve started these Personal Leadership MindEspressos from people I’ve interviewed.
