Back in the 80s and early 90s, I was an investment advisor, and later supervised other advisors, for three major Wall Street firms. When I worked in that business, there were advisors you'd love to have in your corner and others that would ruin your financial life without giving it a second thought. While that was a long time ago, I doubt much has changed. Finding the right financial advisor can be the difference between retiring rich and never retiring and all.
