Hey this is Michael 'Medium Rare' O'Donnell with http://cavetools.com, and in this video we're going to teach you how to tenderize pork chops with a meat mallet. So the first thing you're going to do is using your cutting board place some saran wrap or wax paper over the pork chop. Then you're going to start using the smooth side and you're going to work your way out. Each time with an outwards facing stroke, which is going to move the meat to the edges that's going to continually thin it out. So just work your way in a circle, and in no time your pork chop is going to be way more tender and it's just going to taste delicious when you cook it. And as you can see the meat mallet is really the perfect tool to break down connective tissues if you’re trying to flatten out a piece of steak, or to flatten a piece of chicken. It really opens up a whole new range of recipes that you can try and you’ll start using a meat mallet in everyday cooking. Not a lot of people know, but it’s actually the secret kitchen tool behind a lot of fan favorite recipes such as country-fried steak, wiener schnitzel and cordon bleu. Really it’s like that secret weapon that will take a novice chef and right away people think you’re a pro because you’re cooking these absolutely delicious meals.
