It sounds like a time suck, but you can actually do it pretty easily. The 3 main things I look at on a website are the home page, the About page, and the press release page. Those will pretty much give you the nuts and bolts of what you need to find the humor in something. If you want to, you can expand to the facebook page and latest tweet. I once did a show for a religious group, and on their website was a 15 page code of ethics. I then got to point out that Jesus only had 10 commandments. It got a great laugh and was the perfect way to kick off their event.
