Inflammatory bowel disease, which includes ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease, affects an estimated 3 million adults in the United States. Although numerous therapies are available for the treatment of moderate to severe UC, many patients still suffer poor quality of life and suboptimal outcomes. Therefore, safer and more effective UC therapies are needed. In this CME podcast activity, Dr. Peter Higgins and Dr. William Sandborn will discuss investigational Janus kinase inhibitors and sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor modulators for treating UC.
