Hey Sun City Center! It's October! And....in October, one of the most celebrated festivals is celebrated.... Octoberfest! Here in Sun City Center, Florida, The German American Club, celebrates Octoberfest, as well as Three additional Festivals during the year. I spoke with Paul Buerkle, President of the German American Club, to learn more about the club. Paul stated the German American Club currently has about 200 members. The mission of the club is to cultivate and celebrate the German heritage, culture and customs; to foster friendships among residents of Sun City Center. Paul stated the club celebrates the following festivals during the year: a. Fasching (the 5th season) b. Spring Festival c. Octoberfest d. Christmas Octoberfest will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10th at 5:00pm. The event will include German music, food and dancing.  This year's menu will include Bavarian Pretzels, Bratwurst, Knockwurst, Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage, German Potato Salad and Apple Strudel for dessert! Tickets for members are $30 and $35 for non-members. At each event, the club holds a 50/50 raffle, where half of the proceeds go to the  Samaritan Alzheimer's Auxiliary Raffle tickets are also available for Distinctive Tour's event in 2020! Paul states the winner will receive a nine day....eight night trip to Bavaria...which will include hotel and two meals a day...as well as... tickets to Octoberfest AND the PASSION PLAY...which is only available every 10 years!
