Jack Spins Shellac

Music

Heigh-ho, everybody, heigh-ho. It’s your old pal Jack Norton, I am an Emmy Award winning author and creative artist. Over the years, I have written dozens of best-selling books, co-created a television series for PBS in Nashville, directed feature films, written hundreds of songs - and now I’m the host of my very own podcast called “Jack Spins Shellac”. The format of “Jack Spins Shellac” is very simple. I’m Jack. I spin shellac. What the heck is shellac? Well, we’re going way, way back to when music was pressed on records. And I’m not talking vinyl! Yes, I’m digging even further back in time to when records were made using shellac, hence the name of my podcast, “Jack Spins Shellac”. You see, this show is dedicated to playing lost gems of the phonograph era so I’ll be spinning 78 rpm records from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. If you are a fan of music from this era, or if you just want to slow down and listen to something a little off the beaten path then this is the show for you. I release a new episode of “Jack Spins Shellac” every Friday, so be sure to tune in again every week - same Jack time, same Jack channel and if’n the good Lord’s willin’ and the crick don’t rise, I’ll see you again real soon.
