Joanna Wallfisch & The Crows Alone ft: Joanna Wallfisch - vocals, ukulele, bird sounds Tyler Stahl - guitar Daniel Hass - cello "Ballet Of Birds" written by Joanna Wallfisch More about Joanna and The Crows Alone: LA based singer-songwriter Joanna Wallfisch has emerged as an important voice in the independant not-quite-fitting-into-any-particular-genre music scene, combining “the intimate purview of a singer-songwriter with the technical liberties of a jazz improviser” (Boston Globe). Her music has influences of folk, pop, classical and art-song, tied together with a poetic lyricism which The New York Times described as "sensitive and deep”. She is a master in the art of live vocal looping and creates beguiling vocal soundscapes to accompany her songs. The Telegraph called her virtuosic performance as "sublime and unique". In 2018 she self-released her fourth solo album "Blood and Bone". An adventurer at heart, in 2016 she did a West Coast concert tour of the USA, Portland to Los Angeles, by bicycle. She called this musical adventure "The Great Song Cycle". The Crows Alone, uniquely formed of cello, guitar, baritonie ukulele and voices, was formed during a happy coinciding of like-minded musicians on a writing residency amidst snowy mountains, and is a true bi-coastal band spanning from New York, where Tyler and Daniel live, to Los Angeles where Joanna currently makes her home.
