"Just Like Jesus" - may just shake up your whole paradigm of doing church. A young rich ruler asks Jesus how to get eternal life. Jesus' simple reply leaves this man walking away very sad. Was it selling his belongings and giving to the poor that saddened him, or was it something Jesus said that extended beyond his present wealth? In this first Life Talk of the "Just Like Jesus" Series, Mark introduces (through Jesus' interaction with this young rich ruler) God's ultimate goal for each of us as we come to faith and participate in God's family - the church... to become like His Son, Jesus. The convicting challenge? Much of activity in our present church paradigm does not easily bring about this "Just Like Jesus" transformation in us or our community. The Kingdom of God and Eternal Life is not a destination after death, but rather is a "way of living with Christ" that extends into eternal life. Lets discover life in God's Kingdom and become a thriving community of faith that is becoming like Jesus, together.
