Michael Imhotep host of The African History Network Show on the 9-8-19 edition discussed, "Labor Day’s African American Roots; The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters".  Many people celebrate Labor Day but don't know the history of this Holiday that came out of Pullman Car Company Strike of 1894 led by the American Railway Union.  African American Pullman Porters were not allowed to join the White Union so they did not strike.  The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters would be formed in 1925 to take up the fight of these men.
