Dr. Jayant Murthy is a Senior Professor at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA). Prior to joining IIA he received his PhD in Physics from the Dept. of Physics and Astronomy, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, USA and later joined as a Research Scientist in the same. His research revolves in Space missions starting with a payload on the Space Shuttle (TAUVEX and UVIT missions), Interstellar dust and Diffuse radiation field studies, SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) project and many more.
