Statistics say that most people have about 16 friends, however, 2 in 5 Americans say they feel isolated in their friendships.  In this episode, we discuss what friendship means to us and the challenges we have experienced over the years. In 2020 we are going to strengthen the focus and delve into topics in more depth. We will start a month with a talking point and end the month with some action plans...and in between, we will give you stories, giggles, and a few cries. Dealing with Covid-19

In this episode, Veronica and Debbie took a little road trip to Bethany Beach, Delaware. A favorite shop for both is this SUPER COOL boutique on the boardwalk called Water Lil. Listen in as we had a chance to spend some "live"  time with Lili, the owner.  She has been on the pulse of fashion for many years, having owned multiple boutiques. We had a little discussion on what's coming in the Spring... as well as some of the challenges we face in choosing what fits for us. Inflammation...... What the Heck....

Today we begin by talking about the two different types of inflammation: acute and chronic Chronic Inflammation is the topic we will dig deeper and talk more about over the next 3 weeks. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control)...Heart Disease, Cancer, Autoimmune diseases, and so much more are being found to be a direct result of chronic inflammation. We share our symptoms of inflammation and our autoimmune disease to shed a beginning light on the issue. Please remember, we are not experts or physicians....and we are solely speaking through our personal experience and research we have done so we can self-advocate. We welcome your questions as we have planned interviews with health care experts on the subject.

Today we are going to talk about Toxic friendships, clues that your friendship is toxic, and how to go from a toxic to a healthy friendship. Actions for a healthy friendship: communicate  in your friendships, say what you need kindly if your needs are unmet, you cannot meet the needs of others have  a discussion about how they view you, and how you view them set healthy boundaries friends are like family, they don't give up on each other don't apologize for looking out for yourself be honest....about what you want and who you are.

Making Friends, Overcoming Loneliness Part II

Feeling lonely is part of being human, but you need to learn to differentiate between loneliness and depression. Today you are going to hear what loneliness means to each of us and some ways to conquer it. Actions to take: minimize negative self talk be brave...put yourself out there strengthen the friendships you have and/or start new ones nurture your tribe find familiarities  stop comparing and competing

Have you or someone you love ever received the diagnosis...you know the cancer one! In this episode Debbie and Veronica talk about Veronica's husband's cancer 2 years ago..And don't fret he's doing great now..whew! Listen in as Veronica talks about how they found out, what they did, and how Veronica dealt with the whole thing. It's an intimate discussion about a really hard time in the McClure's life and yet they feel they came through it stronger individually and as a couple.  This interview was a day before the 2 year anniversary of David's last treatment. Ok Girls one of the biggest questions is>>>>>>How the HECK do I get sleep!   Between the not being able to fall asleep or waking in the middle of the night and staying awake, to the night sweats and anxiety it feels like I'll never get a good, restful, full night of deep sleep. So what's a girl gotta do to get some beauty sleep? Listen in as we chat with Megan, a PharmD. She gives us some very good advice and some remedies that you're going to want to try. Debbie has had some true success in the area of sleep by following the advice of Megan and her NP that Megan referred her to. For reals!
