Society & Culture

Lisa Marie Young went out for a friend's birthday in 2002. She was last seen leaving a party to get something to eat. Though the RCMP waited months to begin ground searches, the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation showed up in Nanaimo, BC to search for her immediately. But 19 years later, Lisa remains one of the hundreds of missing Indigenous women in North America. Podcast recommendation: Island Crime, Season 1: Where is Lisa?
