Music is integral to both the cinematic and gaming experience and there are a growing number of artists turning their hand to composing for film and games. Speaking at SXSW in Austin, Texas in March 2018, we brought together a fantastic panel to discuss the world of live score and the bridges being formed between the worlds of music, film and gaming, chaired by Joel Mills from the British Council’s Music team. Our conversation features Adrian Utley (Portishead) who shares his experiences, including as co-composer of the score for Arcadia (2017) with Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory. Stuart Brown from the British Film Institute brings the commissioner’s perspective as he talks us through pictures and stories from previous BFI projects. Creative producer and programmer Laura Ducceschi talks about live score gaming project Dear Esther. Read more: http://music.britishcouncil.org/projects/film-and-music/sxsw-film-music-and-gaming
