Matthew Shepard became a symbol for a generation of LGBTQ+ people and allies all over the world when he was beaten and tied to a fence in Laramie, Wyoming. But who really was Matt Shepard? Matt believed in the powers of love, compassion, forgiveness, unity, and equality. He was an incredible human being who deserves to be remembered not only for the way he died, but for how beautifully and boldly he lived.
