Nordic Art Agency Podcast

Arts

Our guest on this episode of the podcast is the Director of the Copenhagen Photo Festival 2021. We are currently facing a cultural battle as the global pandemic has left the consumption of art in galleries, museums and exhibitions in very uncharted waters.  The Copenhagen Photo Festival,  which was hosted between June 3th - June 13th, launched at a time when Copenhagen city had only very recently reopened after an extended lockdown.  The Director of the Copenhagen Photo Festival, Maja Dyrehauge Gregersen joins Juliet in conversation to explore the philosophy behind the festival, the uncertainty which faced the launch of the exhibition this year due to the pandemic, and the institutional challenges which are impacting the art world in general. The successes of the festival very much lie within its ethos of inclusivity, connectivity and the offering of a shared global immersive experience.  How we currently consume culture is discussed as well as the six participants in this year's solo exhibition, and the galleries, art institutions and museums partnering with the festival. Offical Partner events and exhibitions are continuing until 29th August and you can discover more of what is available to visit. The Nordic Art Agency is currently exhibiting and a photographic exhibition by Natalie Christensen, Semblances of Boundaries & Thresholds at our Malmö gallery until the end of July. You can view this exhibition's digital catalogue and recent virtual gallery event online.View images from the Copenhagen Photo Festival by visiting our Instagram @nordicartagencypodcast and or follow the @nordicartagency gallery on Instagram.
