As Jesus taught and introduced His entirely new way of life, He also added, what seemed to be, a vast amount of ‘Mixed Messages.’ At one moment, Jesus teaches a transcendent gentleness, the next He uses metaphors like “pluck your eye out.” Jesus seeks to bring perspective to it all as He defines for His followers their relationship with violence.
