NGFP Local Lunch

Arts

Hello and welcome to our weekly NGFP Local Lunch podcast where we provide you, our lovely listeners everything you need to know about Nottingham’s local food heroes and how you can get more involved in our vibrant local food scene! It’s a very busy time for NGFP, we are about to embark on a piece of research asking local people in Bestwood and Sneinton about social eating, growing and composting in their area and for us to understand how this all relates to Nottingham’s carbon neutral 2028 action plan. Our guest this week is Marsha Smith, who is our lead community researcher for the project. But first as always - let’s talk about lunch! This week our seasonal local offering is a veggie stew with parsnips, jackfruit, borlotti beans, red peppers saved from our grocer's bin, lots of garlic, fresh ginger, sunflower seeds served with buttered sourdough toast - YUM! Our Marsha Smith a social innovator, seasoned community activist and founder of Superkitchens - she is also our friend of many years. After 7 years of working in the social enterprise sector, Marsha moved into academia to undertake research on participation and social eating. She is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Business in Society at Coventry University, a Visiting Fellow at The Nottingham Trent University and an academic advisor and consultant. We like to call her the Mother of Social Eating - she's fascinating and inspiring so tune in. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ngfplocallunch/message
