In the book of Jonah, God sends the prophet to the enemy of the Israelites to preach repentance. Jonah didn't want to go, and he even begrudged God for having mercy on his enemies. But God didn't just let the people of Nineveh off the hook for their sin, he relented only when they repented of their sin. Jonah 1-4
