Mental fitness is just as, if not more, important than physical fitness. We spend hours in the gym, at yoga studios, crossfit, soulcycle exercising our bodies...what about our minds?Liv Bowser is passionate about our mental health and wellbeing, so she created Liberate, the first ever mental fitness studio. At Liberate, you can choose from several different class titles based on what you need that day. Throughout the duration of the 60 minute class, you will exercise your mind by setting an intention, moving through light yoga, journaling, conversation, and meditation. Mental fitness, a term that Liberate uses, is a practice where you are exercising your mind and practicing concrete skills that ultimately better your mental well being. Liv found her own mental well being to fall to the back burner in comparison to her physical health when she experienced feelings of anxiety. When going through big life transitions, she felt a strong sense of lonliness which sparked the first idea behind Liberate, to create space for people to connect.  Mental health was something that Liv was able to ignore for a while, until she could not withstand anxious moments as they came into her mind and she realized that she needed to make a change. Meditation and yoga became a big part of her life and ultimately Liberate studio was born. Today, Liberate hosts virtual classes with the hope to eventually have an in-person studio. Their mission is to mainstream mental health and bring human beings together on the journey to become our best selves.
