Today we’re focusing on mindfulness, and how to apply scientifically proven techniques to help you reduce stress, improve concentration, and cultivate a sense of balance, resilience, and joy among other things. Guiding us through that journey today is a TRUE disciple of the yoga arts, someone who has studied its ancient wisdom since the age of 15, and that is none other than Yoga Warrior, Peter Cailin. Backed by scientifically-based evidence, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training has been proven to: Teach how to manage and reduce stress Reduce anxiety and worry Decrease anger and hostility Increase self-awareness and self-acceptance Develop compassion Improve focus and concentration Generate clarity of mind Optimize health and well-being Renew energy and vitality Cultivate a sense of balance, resilience, and joy Access powerful inner resources for healing Improve the overall quality of life   About Peter:     Yogi Peter Calin was certified by master instructor June Blank. June Blank, who at the time was 87 years old holds the office of diplomat of the “Asociacion de Profesores de Yoga”. Master June Blank is a disciple of Swami Jyotirmayananda of the “Yoga Research Foundation”. Peter is also an alumnus of the “Polestar Comprehensive Pilates Program” and is studio certified to teach pilates on both the reformer and mat.   Peter has studied and practiced yoga and its ancient wisdom, since picking up a book on yoga at age 15. He will be 67 December 2019. Since 2009, Peter has intensified his studies of the science, learned the wisdom and practiced the art of yoga to expand his knowledge of the life-enhancing skills and tools that yoga provides and better share this holistic enhancement with others as teacher, guide, coach, and therapist.   In his study and practice, Peter has explored Hatha, Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow and Bikram forms of yoga. He studied Ashtanga Yoga with former Madonna instructor Wayne Krassner. More recently, he retreated to the Himalayan Institute to study with Pandit Tuganit and deepen his knowledge of the Yoga Sutras.   Today, Peter continues to be guided by listening to the voices within; his intuition and instincts; the inner voice the inner light and beauty. His teachings develop from his vast body of diverse experiences and knowledge gathered throughout the years. Experience that, in it’s distilled and purest essence he pours into his teachings and every-day practice of yoga.   Regardless, Peter will tell you that “I’m just a man, like any other man. Common. Like any/every woman/man trying to decipher why I’m here, now. What my purpose is. Yoga makes me aware that without quieting the fluctuations and agitation of the mind and heart, we cannot begin that journey of exploration, discovery, and wonder. Yoga leads us to awareness and provides tools and practices that holistically heal, strengthen and balance us, so that we can be the stillness and peace we need to find our way/journey to why we’re here . . . and discover our purpose.“
