During this video, we discuss FMCSA's new entry-level driver training rules for CDL drivers. FMCSA training rules became effective on February 7, 2022, for all trainee students seeking to obtain a Class A CDL or Class B CDL, a CDL upgrade, or who wish to obtain a Passenger (P), a School Bus (S), or a Hazardous Materials endorsement (H).

The school or organization listed on the TPR (Training Provider Registry) must accredit theory instruction for passengers, school bus, a hazmat endorsement, and behind-the-wheel instruction. According to the latest guidelines, 160 hours of total training are required for the program, including 80 hours of practical training and 80 hours of theory training.
