Do we even buy alien stories any more? What about the man whose house has been hit by 6 meteorites? Coincidence or elaborate extraterrestrial goof? A new study from the University of Nevada finally gives us the solid evidence that rich people are unempathetic trash. And if I hit someone with my car... they owe me for the damages, right? If you want to jump straight to the title story, skip to this time code: 09:50 ----- Man hit by six meteorites claims to be 'targeted by aliens' The world first became aware of Radivoje Lajic in 2008 after the fifth meteorite crashed into the roof of his home in Gornji Lajici. Now another rock has hit the roof of his house making it the sixth strike since they began in 2007. Lajic is convinced that he is being targeted by extraterrestrials, although claiming to not know what he would have done to annoy them. One person's response to the story claims that Mr. Lajic knows more than he is letting on and could be hiding something the aliens want. ----- Expensive car drivers are less empathetic than others, new study claims A new study, conducted by the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, has found that drivers of expensive vehicles are less likely to stop and allow pedestrians to cross the road -- with the likelihood they'll slow down decreasing by 3% for every extra $1,000 that their vehicle is worth. Researchers speculated that expensive car owners "felt a sense of superiority over other road users" and are less able to empathise with them. These findings are supported by a Finnish study published in the Journal of Transport and Health that found men who own flashy vehicles are more likely to be "argumentative, stubborn, disagreeable and unempathetic." ----- Cyclist hit by car then sued for damages to vehicle Bryan Agnello was biking home when a motorist struck him from behind, propelling him onto the car’s hood. His bike was mangled and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation. Agnello, lucky to escape the crash without serious injury, received a notice from Rochester City Court claiming the driver, Jovonte Cook, had filed a $700 claim against Agnello for damage to his car. ----- Patreon Exclusive Story: Man fined for importing more than 450kg of coriander ----- Thanks as always for listening and don't forget to share the show with a friend!
