On this episode of Cannabis 101 we will be hearing from Lobbyist and Board Member of MRCC Saskia VannJames! Saskia works as a bike mechanic at Broadway Bicycle in Cambridge, MA, currently the only Black woman working at a cooperative bike shop in the entire state of Massachusetts. Saskia also works as a lobbyist at Massachusetts Recreational Consumer Council, a BIPOC founded and cooperatively owned nonprofit that advocates for restorative justice for our Black and Brown communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs. MRCC also educates consumers on responsible consumption through 'decolonize the weed' practices. Saskia’s experience with practicing intersectionality and working in cooperatives brings an alternative outlook into the cannabis industry and the issues facing it today. Bob Lobel  is in the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame, he is a guest lecturer at Salem State University and if you take a look at his IMDB page you will see Bob Lobel is also an actor, known for Fever Pitch (2005), Episode 19 of Cheers (1982) and Sports Plus(2003). Bob Lobel’s vast knowledge of sports, his ability to land the big interviews and his pungent sense of humor made him one of Boston’s most popular and relied-upon television anchors. More recently Bob has been sharing his story with cannabis and how it has saved his life from  getting addicted to opioids when he needed to be treated for pain. Lobel, who worked for WBZ-TV for almost 30 years, has been vocal about his support for legalized pot over the past few years.
