Online Communities and Certification{audio}http://media.behindthecameratalk.com/podcasts/012-070809-Forums%20and%20Certification.mp3{/audio} Online Communities are a big thing, they can really help users with learning, sharing and meeting new people with the same interests. Today I will be talking about the differences in communities. About free communities and paid communities. What to look for in selecting the community you want to be involved with and also how to utilize them for your business. Here is a short list of communities I have tried out over the years as a pro photographer: http://www.pro4um.comhttp://www.phototalkforum.comhttp://www.dpreview.comhttp://www.photosig.comhttp://www.digitalphotopros.comhttp://spartists.com/http://www.ppa.com/community/http://www.franksbabyplan.com/FBP/Welcome.htmlhttp://www.digitalweddingforum.com/ These are just a few community websites you can start with to get involved. In the second part of the show, I interviewed 2 certified photographers named Lisa Duncan www.lisaduncanphotography.com and Tod Gomes www.creativelookphoto.com both are members of the NCPP (Northern California Professional Photographers) and they share there experiences as certified photographers. Each shares thoughts on the process, benefits and etc... on getting certified. You will hopefully walk away from the interview with some fresh ideas on why to get certified. I know I will be working to get mine now. http://www.ppa.com/education-events/certification.php to learn more about getting your certification. Enjoy the show and as always, leave your comments or call our feedback line and leave a comment, 925-270-0457. Would love to hear your opinion on getting certified, what forums you visit and whatever else is on your mind.
