Ep27 of Outside 50 changes gears a little as we chat about the coaching side of footy with Des Moines Rooster, Donnie Hess. Being in “America’s Heartland,” there are a different breed of players who are predominately American and have a love for the physical side of the sport. Donnie recently transitioned over into the head coach for the Roosters, but has a strong background in coaching his local youth basketball team. Donnie also discusses the fate of the 80/35 tournament that the club hosts yearly and how he hopes the women’s side can grow from the tournament as well. Donnie attributes the success and strength of the Roosters to having such a great group of men and women who have developed strong bonds and friendships over the years.
