News & Politics

During Patty Rorrer’s 18-day trial in February 1998, prosecution pushed a circumstantial motive of a fatal-attraction murder. The prosecution painted a picture of a woman so enraged when her former boyfriend’s wife hung up the phone on her that she drove to Pennsylvania from her home in North Carolina, forced Joann Katrinak and her baby at gunpoint into the car, took them outside of town and murdered them.  She was convicted with almost no physical evidence or murder weapon. She is currently serving a life sentence at SCI Muncy in Pennsylvania.
