We see Jesus moving to the cross alone. One by one His followers dropped away not understanding what was needed for reconciliation. Christ alone redeemed us.-Peter had declared great allegiance to Christ yet he failed. As with Peter, we all hold on to pride as in -O Wretched man that I am.--At the supper, Jesus spoke to the disciples about who has the seat of honor. Then onto -Simeon, Simeon, Satan has asked permission to sift you as wheat.- Satan did this to Job as he wishes to do this to us.-As Peter, we all fall short as humans. BUT God makes us alive with Christ. We are sinners saved by Grace.-Peter is told what will happen to him that day- he will deny Him three times. As it happened-once by a girl, followed by a man and an hour later by another man. Each time Peter said he did not know Christ. After the third time Jesus looked at Peter and the rooster crowed. Peter was brought to tears--brought to the end of his self.-Where Peter was sifted- Satan entered Judas. God uses Satan's intent for His own glory, not for Satan's.-Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith would not fail. And when Peter turned back -repented-, he was to strengthen his brothers.-Be thankful for the Lord worked in a sinner's life. May our faith not fail---with the Lord's help.
