Miscellaneous

In a player-led protest of the police shooting of Jacob Blake, NBA teams began to boycott their playoff games on Wednesday. Within hours, we saw the same happen in the MLB and the MLS. The WNBA's Washington Mystics boycotted their game against the Atlanta Dream Wednesday night before taking the court for the photo op. Each player wore a T-shirt with a letter in Blake’s name on the front and seven holes on the back, representing the number of times Blake, a 29-year-old father of six, was shot by a police officer. The WNBA then put a pause on their season until Friday. In this week’s episode, Tia and Meredith unpack the events that transpired on Wednesday and the ways the NBA and the WNBA are demanding the world’s attention. Enough is enough. Black Lives Matter.
