Darkness Buried Deep

Religion & Spirituality

This edition of Darkness Buried Deep, Podcast 13, I am releasing on Friday the 13th, which is also a full moon! A very rare full moon, there won't be another Friday the 13th full moon until 2049!  MUHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!

Danny, our guest from the April Fools Bonuscast, shares a tale of an odd haunting.  While in Ecuador as a small child, he had a very weird experience with his siblings and cousins.  If you knew this guy, you would know that this snapshot from his childhood explains so much.....

Arra, who has been on numerous other podcasts of ours, invited me to have dinner with her parents.  I was very lucky to get almost 2 hours of stories from Arra and her mom, Tiyi.  Tiyi submittted a story called School Spirit to Lex Wahl's Anything Ghost.  She has been a guest of Jim Harold on the Campfire Podcast twice.  On her most recent appearance on the Campfire, she told a story about the Slinky Lady, so aptly named due to the Slinky Lady's unnatural movement down the hallway of Tiyi's childhood home.  I had heard an alternate version of the Slinky Lady story from Arra, which was the story that I wanted most of all that night.  I'll include links to Tiyi's submissions to those other awesome podcasts in the show notes. Tiyi was kind enough to share several other stories of growing up in what her family called, the Pensacola House.  Listeners, the fire that Tiyi references in the Slinky Lady story is the Great Chicago Fire.  You'll hear more from this particular recording session of Tiyi and Arra next month.

My last story is really raw and emotional.  Julia talks about her brother's murder, and how his ghost brought his murderer to trial and later conviction.  If it had not been for her brother's ghost, Julia and her family would never have known what had happened to him.  Due to the emotional nature of Julia's telling and the violence of the crime, this may not be a tale for sensitive liseners.  Please be forewarned.  She very generously and courageously shared her story with the Darkness Buried Deep community, but I had second, third and fourth thoughts about including it in the podcast.  However, I think that it is an integral part of our appreciation for stories of hauntings to consider this: often, ghosts are born out of unspeakable tragedy and heartbreak.  We must acknowledge the harsh reality of the ghost stories.  Terrible things happen to people like you and me.  People just like you and me mourn the passing of victims of these terrible things.

Thank you for tuning in to this special Friday the Thirteenth episode of Darkness Buried Deep.  Continue to share the scare by inviting your friends to check out the show.  Give me a shout out on the Facebook fan page!  I love hearing from my listeners all over the world.  You guys are so cool!
